Customization of Orthoses: new possibilities for business models through modern technology

When it comes to supporting orthoses, bandages, or compression stockings, orthopedic technicians usually have to rely on custom-made products. The hand-made production is time-consuming and costly. This contradicts with the desire for quick availability. With the help of modern technologies, orthopedic technology companies and medical supply stores are able to produce patient-specific orthoses, bandages, and compression stockings in a way that would hardly be possible with traditional processes. These modern procedures result in new opportunities for business models in the field of orthopedic technology.
